Eric grew up in Topeka, Kansas, and has searched for adventures for most of his adult life, including riding his bike from Kansas to Alaska, running ultramarathons, and backpacking the Colorado Trail. After embarking on a sea kayaking trip from Bellingham, Washington to Ketchikan, Alaska, Eric decided to leave his career as a middle school teacher and started working at the Mountain Shop in Portland, Oregon.
At the shop, Eric kindled his love for backcountry skiing on Mount Hood, and now as general manager, he is dedicated to providing the Mount Hood backcountry community the great ski shop it needs. He lives in Vancouver, Washington with his wife and daughter, and you can most often find him skiing at sunrise before work.
