Richard Bothwell has been splitboarding and skiing in Tahoe since the 1990s. In the winter, he is a backcountry ski and snowboard guide and avalanche educator. In the summer, he thinks about snow. When not riding in Tahoe, he can be found in the Lassen National Park backcountry or exploring the less-traveled wilderness between Tahoe and Lassen.
Richard owns and guides for The Outdoor Adventure Club, a multi-sport guide service. In addition to teaching avalanche classes for the OAC, he also teaches at Lake Tahoe Community College and Feather River College. He has held numerous certifications from AIARE, AMGA, PSIA, ACA, and NOLS/WMI. He lives in Truckee with his wife.
